Yeah I'm not sure why but that was really the big turning point. The very first moment I encountered the first rumblings of trouble was 2011-2012, but 2014 it really exploded

Theoretically, but with everyone scrutinizing each other's feeds for wrongthink friends, follows, likes, etc., it's socially challenging even where it isn't technically infeasible

Judging by HN, lots of people still think it’s a great startup idea to build a platform and organize debates between people who disagree on everything so they can learn from different views and temper their beliefs. ‘Cause that’s how it works.
