I'm not *that* far from the average American voter
My life is less traditional than theirs in some ways, but I want most of the same things they do, and I don't take any of it for granted because it's simply not there for me if I don't figure out how to get it. This is totally foreign to many people I've met.
The difference is in how you think, not what you want. You are (as far as I can tell), intelligent, rational and evidence based. This does not describe the average American voter.
It doesn't describe the average voter worldwide. The divestment in education served the populists well.
