While agreeing we shouldn’t be skeptical of individuals, how should we voice our skepticism for the system/process? Individuals who engage in this process might be mostly good minded, but the process itself has problematic results.

To throw another example, how should we think about people who have French Bulldogs? Individually, it’s hard to assign blame, but the existence of a French Bulldog is a horrific crime

Is there any mainstream example of this?

Mason, I thought the same thing, but note that Kendi did not mean THEM. He was referring to historical cases. He was merely making the point that its not inconceivable to be racist while adopting blacks.

His post at first blush seems unhinged and horrifying, but by “Some racists” he means “some racists in the history of the world”, not “these racists pictured here”.... I dont know Kendi and I probably dislike him but. In this case he just spoke poorly.

I think I’m politically left. I don’t support a default position is suspicion towards racially heterogeneous adoptive families. I disapprove of that position. But I don’t know what you are asking me to do that would constitute not tolerating it.

Speak out, make it clear that this is a deeply unethical position totally incosistent with the values of the left and of any decent human civilization. Redirect conversation to critical questions about the nomination. @ggreenwald is doing a great job.
