Agree, I just don't think they're broadly aware of the depth or implications of what they see. The rest of the world is quite intent on telling them that this is 100% burden, 0% opportunity.

Agreed. There is definitely a market distortion, but the only example I can think of where this distortion was used to augment culture is Russia, so I wonder if there are subtleties to that distortion that are important to ward off the bad parts of Russia psychology.

Another counter argument is that it’s mainstream in small town America for women to have children out of wedlock expressly in order to extract child support.
