Got a police report after she fled the house that later helped him get a restraining order. Sherriff offered to serve it for us but she was hiding and we didn't know where to find her so he put a BOLO on the car she had taken.
I was young, and going to the police felt scary to me. I involved my college instead, and got a "stay away" letter that did nothing. If anything, we should be encouraging women to involve police, because it's really the only thing that makes a bad situation stop.
