Impact of deep personality traits very apparent in my dogs. My chihuahua-mutt will find any opportunity to breach a fence, take herself for a walkabout around the neighborhood and return home in her own time; my poodle would not DREAM of being anywhere except pinned to my side
Hard to say! Chihuahua is a rescue I adopted at ~3 years old, shuttled from local animal control to a no-kill shelter — no information on her background. Poodle was bred by a very dedicated small-scale breeder, hand-socialized from birth & raised by me from 12 weeks.

It's a very reasonable interpretation! But: the former is definitely a mutt, probably the result of an accident or informal pairing, and the latter has a lengthy pedigree of dogs selected for scent work with a human handler and thoroughly genetically screened for disease
