Hard to say! Chihuahua is a rescue I adopted at ~3 years old, shuttled from local animal control to a no-kill shelter — no information on her background. Poodle was bred by a very dedicated small-scale breeder, hand-socialized from birth & raised by me from 12 weeks.
Impact of deep personality traits very apparent in my dogs. My chihuahua-mutt will find any opportunity to breach a fence, take herself for a walkabout around the neighborhood and return home in her own time; my poodle would not DREAM of being anywhere except pinned to my side

I think he was probably following me, tho! Have had a few cases now here in LA where I'm walking to the supermarket, and suddenly he's right there next to me. Never leaves home when I'm there!
