Of course McConnell would demonstrate transparent hypocrisy in a situation like this, and of course Democrats will respond by trying to pack the court as soon as the opportunity arises. My tolerance for people not seeing this despicable game for what it is now at an all-time low

given what the GOP did (Garland), what they’ll probably do (appoint), how do you think the Democrats should respond?
Ethically, they should do the principled thing. Strategically, they should do the unprincipled thing and hope the other side grows the principles, which none of their constituents on either side seem to care much about anymore.

There's *nothing*, literally *nothing*, unethical about adding SCOTUS justices. It's happened six times and is completely within Congress's purview.
