Probably the biggest problem with her is that she's somewhat young and hasn't spent much time on the 7th circuit, which means there's less opinion to scrutinize and that she could be on the Supreme Court for decades

For my part, I have a pretty middling and not very exciting layperson's position on stare decisis. I'm not at all thrilled with strict constitutional originalism, but am way less comfortable with fresh precedent-setting at the level of the USSC than a lot of people seem to be

She's on record as originalist.Have read confirmation hearing &writings.Mentor Scalia.Member Federalist Society.Believes life begins at conception,Roe incorrectly decided, gay marriage decision wrong.Does not believe in stare decisis(big).SCt can change judges but where she's now

I worked for a while with a bunch of people from the same religious group as her, the People of Praise––they were all profoundly right-wing, but also all very, very genuine, non-ideological/partisan in their politics

not that praise by association is meaningful, but I was impressed by the depth and thoughtfulness of their convictions, even though they were so far away from my worldview––these right-wing intellectuals who cared deeply about finding truth
