I'm increasingly big on the whole states' rights thing, but IMO it serves people much less well when the barriers to mobility are high, and right now they're pretty high for the people who would benefit most

People need to eat the costs of moving, but more critically they need to figure out where their own best opportunities are for both work and whatever their lifestyle and family needs are, and that's a really difficult project

In the age of billionaire philanthropy I'm a little bit surprised there isn't a massive data analysis project with an accessible user frontend for this. But it's both ambitious and maybe not terribly sexy?

This is an awesome idea who's time has come. The impact is power to the people&communities. e-commerce is not sexy, neither is ride/house sharing, video conferencing, content streaming, electric cars, nor CRM, ERP, or cyber security. Most great innovation is NOT sexy.

I think there are a handful of resources (made by largely libertarians iirc?) for ranking states by a variety of potentially important metrics to see where you might most want to live. can't remember what they're called and I'm sure theyre missing plenty of important thing 4 some
