I'm still stunned that Harvard actually got away with racially balancing its admissions by straight-up labeling Asian applicants unlikable, unkind and humorless in aggregate https://twitter.com/kittypurrzog/status/1306724470128697344 …pic.twitter.com/4nm8I40acp

My friend's dad was the expert witness on this case! His report was pretty damning imo…

If they hadn't done that it would have given way for arguing of the unconstitutionality of affirmative action.

No it wouldn't, legality affirmative action doesn't cover race quotas, and what Harvard is doing is race quotas.

working class children are not known on campus for "likability" and "humor" because they are too busy studying this is Harvard's way of making room for privileged legacy admits For them, college is just one long party so they are more likely labeled as social/humorous types

A Massachusetts WASP who went to an elite private liberal arts college and an Ivy League law school, and then worked at a high-end law firm, as a judge ruled that Harvard could do something approved of by elite American opinion. Are you *really* stunned?

More nuance the university interviewers rated them lower, their alumni interviews suggested no difference in like-ability etc. They deliberately rate them lower so the overall score is lower and therefore they have basis to legally discriminate. And the courts okayed it.

I do not understand the whole concept of elite higher education. Why are there so few places for students, professors? Why are there so few universities? There must be tremendous barriers to entry for new unis - where are all the start-ups? I just don't get it.pic.twitter.com/Sa11SiHJfO

Aren't we dealing with a cartel-type situation here? How is this legal in the US?
