There is no market for these apartments and condominiums at pre covid prices. That world does not exist anymore. The change to remote work is irreversible. Costs have to come down, and the companies that understand this, and make a compelling product, will be the ones who survive

Furthermore the desirability of crowded Urban environments is diminishing. That trend will continue. The perspective which you describe is largely obsolete. Obviously it's going to take some time for people to understand this.
