So funny that that attitude pervades, that it's a trivial task to staff police forces with some hypothetical ideal of a physically-capable-social-worker-warrior-hybrid-with-impeccable-split-second-judgment

There's a lot of people out there who expect a lot of others, little of themselves, and master the art of rationalizing it.

Wish I had an infinite budget and deadline to make that happen

It's irresponsible to put incapable people into use of force roles. Underlying cause of many of the issues. A person with limited capabilities has limited options. They know this and thus have an impossibly bad choice between their gun and their safety.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUhdc1GAddk …

Rittenhouse in a nutshell. No training. No defensive gear. No non-lethal equipment. No tactical know-how. Over-matched in size, strength, speed, skill. 5 foot 3 kid with the sole skill of shooting a gun to kill... doesn’t make anyone safer playing cop.

The solution here is obviously Robocop.

Actually no. I expect cops who come from and understand the community, who can diffuse situations using the continuum of force and who follow correct police procedures.Steroid cops are more problem. Woman and minorities and well educated men who are local always do better.
-
It's a fantasy to think you can peacefully diffuse every situation with every individual.
