I mean, business-as-usual social warfare here, but apart from that, the problem is with committee awards. To attach any cultural significance to X (X ~ 10 to 100) people's STRONG opinions about who's the ABSOLUTE BEST in any domain is pretty much to give up on cultural discourse.

Emmanuel, how can you suggest that the judgment of the committee could be anything but pure, objective, and reflective of a higher divine culinary truth? Surely, SURELY It is the nominees that are broken.

The obvious takeaway for non-POC participants is not to participate, since if the finalist group doesn't display equality of outcomes, it will be claimed it's your fault.

I'm curious to hear any stories anyone here might have about being in a similar situation, either as a judge or contestant (with anonymity preserved, of course.)
