What made this really frustrating listening for me is that many of the issues and concerns aren't frivolous, but they seem to point toward deeper community divisions and the friction between starkly divergent walks of life that *should* have been explored with less of an agenda

e.g., my SIL is a social worker in NYC neighborhoods with some of the worst schools and has remarked at how many homes have zero books in them. This is a problem that must be solved but will be overlooked if we think nice white parents are the problem.

I disagree w/ your last statement. The only “issues” that need to be discussed by parents w/ schools are what the kids will be learning & what are the teacher qualifications. All kids should be schooled in classical subjects & foreign languages by the first grade.
