Curiously, the implication is that the children of black immigrants do not need any assistance in the admissions process because — presumably — the wrong that begs for correction is slavery, not any kind of persisting racism.
Real amends can never be made for something like slavery. It can't be reversed and it can't be reciprocated. So the conversation that proceeds from there has to be very clear on its terms and goals.

I don't have a strong opinion about reparations and I think I'd need to be much better read before I did. People mean a lot of different things by them (cash, baby funds, community interventions) and expect different outcomes.
