And are they open to immigrants, liberal democracy values, and secular values? are you happy with the average education and critical thinking levels of the population? do they value diversity? There’s a price to be paid for these things, and that’s why SF Bay commands a premium.

Sorry, who is paying what for which sort of "premium" diversity? Which immigrants are finding this $3-4k/month rent premium so easy to stomach? What, exactly, is your vision here? Who belongs?

no one should pay premium for wanting to live in a tolerant community. sadly, this is new US, turns out if you want a tolerant community w/ neighbors w/ decent level of critical thinking, you end up paying. would love living in cheap red state & save, but sadly not welcomed there
