The good news is that I'm sure there are plenty of female BIPOC cops that would love to run a defunded department on a skeleton crew in a city that regularly devolves into chaos, explicitly over hating the police

You do realize the Seattle PD has a history of overuse of force? And the cut was less than 1% of their budget?

I'm sure the greater concern will be the $100m in cuts BLM is *still* demanding and seems poised to get, unless the feds step in. Chief Best was only there since 2018. I'm sure whoever replaces her will also enjoy sharing blame for events that happened before their time.

In the 80's the elites would justify defunding public services on the basis of "efficiency". We have new post-hoc criteria now. We didn't need to "abolish" the regulatory apparatus to render it completely iatrogenic
