Are nonbinary people transgender?

How can they possibly be orthogonal, though? Can I identify as a trans woman if I'm AFAB?

If you consider trans to mean gender identity opposite your assigned sex, then nonbinary is not opposite, it's outside of the dichotomy, so it's not trans. If you consider trans to mean gender identity different your assigned sex, then nonbinary could be trans. 1/2

I don't know of any AFAB who self-identify as transwomen, but if they exist, you'd have to ask them what they mean by that. 2/2
