It’s AB5 all over again. In theory there’s an everlasting well of compassion here in enlightened California, but it is exactly that- theory. In practice the class gulf is so wide that those who make policy cannot imagine how the supposed beneficiaries of their plans really live.
This. Left-wingers are detached from how ordinary people live like. They have stable jobs and live in safe communities.
I agree w all this but the point is that the economic support has to come from the feds. If it becomes clear that that support is not coming within the next couple weeks, then the state must do whatever is necessary. Until now though, they’ve had that federal support for ppl.
