The direction I see all this headed in, potentially, is that the sort of people who got their rocks off railing at religious institutions for "controlling women" will demand behind the scenes that certain female behavior be dampened on the algorithmic level "for their own good."
What I'd like is for us to drag these conversations into daylight and actually talk about what we want and what we don't want, without insisting that every mixed outcome of our preferred ideals is somebody else's fault.

I think you are right. But I also think that it's very hard to grapple with because of a very basic fact: The sexuality and reproductive strategies of the opposite sex is very much upsetting to see/know in detail for most people.
Because it is always objectifying and you and your life outcome is, in aggregation, selected against. This makes all this deeply emotional, and so it gets hard for us to discuss it in a rational, objective way.

If you really want that conversation, it will have to include the massive shame in the US that accompanies showing or watching nearly any part of our bodies. Many other countries have overcome the stigma, likely instilled by our religious cultures, and are free to be human.
