Whatever liberal & libertarian parents experienced in their own youth with personal recreational drug use and the godawful war on drugs, extreme caution is warranted now when talking to younger folks. The drugs here today are NOT the drugs we grew up with.

(Standard psychedelics seem pretty well-maintained, probably because users develop physical tolerance immediately and because most people don't want to do them all the time or make the experience any more intense than it already is.)

Sort of. LSD and shrooms are the same as ever, but 'molly' is a generic term for whatever feelgood gunk the local chemist whipped up, and there's all kinds of crazy stuff like nbome whose toxicity isn't well understood

Not sure what you meant by 'well maintained' but this is more nuanced than you're making it out to be. Lots of new stuff is dangerous. Lots of old stuff is dangerous.
