Why are there so many blatantly racist comments on this thread? It’s pretty disheartening.
I haven't scrolled through beyond the first few, so I'm a bit naive, but: literally everything with significant media coverage has become a tribal commodity in one way or another. I'm sure a lot of people clamp onto this because it's John Lewis, or because it's the democrats.
Maybe it's because the government is not allowing them to grieve for their loved ones in this same way. NO congressperson be it John Lewis or not, is more entitled than the next American citizen. Leaders of this country don't seem to have to live by the laws that they create.
I gotta say, this feels like an alternative universe. I get the feeling behind the original post, but there seems to be so much hate for the BLM movement and a complete lack of recognition of who John Lewis even was, and disdain for what he stood for.
When someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them!
