i felt a disturbance, as if a thousand wobblies cried out at once and were ilenced.
After decades of declining entrepreneurship, an entire generation just watched small businesses gored en masse by governance that couldn't even manage their own obligations well enough to make it matter. And nobody cares! The kids are going to want safe jobs at big companies.

Congress is spending the day goring big business, to see if they can do even more harm.

Totally. But they can't now; not really. Their own mismanagement has made megacorps more critical than ever as a substrate for American productivity and financial stability. I think they just bring the big names in to bat them around a bit for the cameras. Bread and circuses.

On the bright side, while the pandemic is global, the mismanaged response is disproportionately American. But so am I. :(

I only know of 4 or 5 countries which didn't have a mismanaged response to the pandemic. The politicization of mask use may have been more prevalent there though.
