1 y.o. now, first weeks were ~blissful. Later, handling colic-type distress every evening was emotionally & cognitively very challenging, but somehow okay. I wasn’t really prepared for the sustained lack of personal autonomy but c’est la vie. Twitter kind of helps.
"Kids will make a liar of you" is something I learned really quickly — just professionally observing at a school for a research project. They're as different as every other kind of people are. Generalizations and prescriptions fail constantly. It's maddening.
