The average tenure of a k-12 teacher lasts only 4 years. That leaves a ton of ex teachers who may not be working who would be happy to earn the same teaching 6 kids as they did teaching 30.
100%. Teacher turnover is crazy — especially given that nobody goes into that field expecting to get rich. I've talked to a lot of former and current teachers. They don't feel like they signed up to do the job the way they're forced to do it.
