If at any point you repeated or boosted the "fact" that masks should not be worn to prevent the spread of coronavirus — knowing or suspecting that this was an unsupported claim to reduce demand for PPE — you have no business shaping or promoting mask policy/messaging now.

We've had no reckoning, and that's why so few will listen as we teeter at the cusp of a severe second wave. Pretty much everyone who lied kept their cushy jobs, as the rest watched their futures dissolve into uncertainty. And you have the gall to tell us what a good citizen is.

Not long ago I was hashing this out with an epidemiologist on twitter with 3x my following, who *strongly* implied that wearing a mask could INCREASE(!) risk of contracting COVID. Her own sources didn't support this. This absolute sham of a discussion will stick with me for life.
