Certainly, "the anvil" is too far, but without a prosocial drive, what even is society?
"Pro-social" is the justification used by people who've never met you and will not hesitate to call your boss, partner, parents or children in order to feel the glow of self-righteousness at your destruction. My tongue is packed well into the cheek with my use of "pro-social."

The reality is that the anvil and any reasonable ideas about pro-social behavior lie at opposite ends of the critical axis. The idea that there is a subtle line between them is the result of modern cultural sociopathty.

So any behavior or position is acceptable in discourse as long as we keep talking? I suppose the knife of infinite social reach cuts all ways. What would a legible life look like in a world of social media?
