People don’t realize the implications of their data, or even know who they are networked too that could be at risk. We are conscious and willing about giving up our privacy for content, but what that info is enabling is beyond an afterthought.

I've got friends who refuse to get off it insisting that Facebook/Discord/etc are already selling their data so what's the big deal if China has it. Same ppl protested Blizzard's treatment of the free HK protester but turn around and buy new CoD. Too addicted to entertainment.

Unfortunately, my experience with that age cohort suggests support for authoritarian communism is the trendy default. Freedom holds no social capital compared to promises of equality via dismantling capitalism. Seattle is surely on one end of the spectrum, but I digress
