Just a reminder that the backbone of our entire education system — non-interactive one-to-many lecturing — is a demonstrably terrible way to learn anything. And we've known this for a very, very long time.

Yes. I mean, you could also call *books* a sort of one-to-many lecturing, but if you're choosing what and when to read and discarding whatever doesn't suit you, you're likely to learn a great deal

It seems to me that I use different modes of interaction when reading a paper book, reading a digital document, and watching a YouTube video, and that the last one is most like an in-person lecture. I agree that autonomy is key. Forced customized tutoring would be bad.
