WHY IS @MCHammer MAKING ME CRY

Feeling very reflective re: how to be a more positive and productive presence right now. Too easy to get caught up in negativity — with the best of intentions — just because so much of the conversation elsewhere is malicious, bad faith. I'm going to try to do better

Sadly only caught the last 30 minutes or so. A lot of individual speakers' concerns and hopes for policing, the media, political organization — buffered by a whole lot of empathy and gentleness. People are mostly just worried and trying to figure out what to do, how to be useful

Agreed. Narrative violation = Clubhouse one of the most diverse groups of people in tech right now.
-
How many people in there with less than $1m net worth? You’re deluded if you think diversity = skin color over the life you’re living. Clubhouse is the ultimate echo chamber of a small percentage of the populace, back- clapping for token stats.

I’m eager to get on when it’s available to all; I’m just not sure that the conversations with such people will be open to nobodies like me when it’s not invite-only.

If they do it will be edited and given a headline something like “Billionaire racists attack people of color.”

I heard a good part of the leaked conversation and I got a mostly positive impression from it. People are removing comments from context to make it look bad, which is ironic to say the least.

Same here: read the vice piece, and listened to the recording the day after. Incredible how disconnected the two of them seemed! Sure there were a few disingenuous things said once or twice, but it was overwhelmingly positive and interesting discussions...
