As someone who was the victim of genuine, prosecutable cyberstalking, I am extremely not OK with assholes making these claims to prop up their stupid tweetwars. Mean tweets are not stalking, and you should count yourself lucky if you lack the experience to know the difference.

Yeah, it's awful. It's happened to me periodically, too, and I was even locked out of twitter for a few days last year over a security concern. Not dismissing it, but it's not stalking.

It's not a "semantic argument," they're not the same crime. I agree that it's awful, but the misconception that the two are equatable is *exactly* why I need everyone to choose their words a little bit more carefully.
