If someone is actually stalking you, trust me, you will not be inclined to try to force them to have a conversation with you or to retaliate in any fashion. It's a fucking terrifying situation.

As someone who was the victim of genuine, prosecutable cyberstalking, I am extremely not OK with assholes making these claims to prop up their stupid tweetwars. Mean tweets are not stalking, and you should count yourself lucky if you lack the experience to know the difference.

Amen. It gives the impression that these very serious criminal offenses are actually tantamount to petty social media flamewars. Most people have no idea how high the burden of proof can be just to get a civil restraining order.

She says she's seen attempts to try hack her though... Not sure how believable that is, but if she's saying the truth it's pretty despicable.

Yeah, it's awful. It's happened to me periodically, too, and I was even locked out of twitter for a few days last year over a security concern. Not dismissing it, but it's not stalking.
