The EO specifically notes that the city freely provided the occupiers "basic hygiene" (portable toilets), water, electricity, and garbage removal services. The city did not provide adequate policing, and as a result dozens of people were robbed, beaten or killed.

I'm surrounded by strong free speech advocates, and I've never heard *anyone* argue that people claiming to be protesters should be permitted to obstruct police from getting to a wounded victim or subsequently investigating a violent crime. The process breakdown here is surreal
