It also adds an *if only* clause to peace, that OTHER bad people are holding up progress and prosperity. We also used to think like this. The idea of purging people for peace’s sake is the exact opposite of peace.

“Dehumanizing” is the right word for it. There is a genuinely murderous quality to the rhetoric right now, a glee at the abstract possibility of the deaths of “bad people” which is no longer marginal, but front and center in supposedly-moderate institutions.
It's also blind to the fact that old people are better than young people.
I think saying they will have to acknowledge reality actually humanizes these old racists. Seeing people fear something real instead of imaginary is humanizing. Plus, “Reality is coming” is a far cry from “they’re all going to die and I’m happy about it.”
Amazing what you can get away with when you act righteous enough, isn't it? The only answer I can see is creating a powerful counter-culture that "cancels" the absolute imbeciles trying to cancel everyone else for irrational reasons(and doing everything else they are).
