To put it another way: if your cause can be effectively hijacked, that IS a *you* problem. And if your response is to dismiss it and move on, that tells me you're waiting to see who wins the shitty little internal culture war before you pretend to have any principles

I think there's some truth here, but it feels too broad. Are there any causes that can't be hijacked? Are there many? If people are specifically seeking to twist, *preemptively* resisting that seems like a tall order. Resisting it in progress is obviously important though.
