While obviously murder is wrong and no reasonable person supports it can you realistically engage in any degree of pearl clutching without an honest and fair minded appreciation of the degree of anger out there? You deserve your success but be honest about how broken it is.

If you find yourself beginning an argument with "while obviously murder is wrong," you are about to say something that sounds extremely tone deaf to people who have encountered actual violence and have serious safety concerns now.

Well let them eat cake then shall we? Violence of any sort is never OK. Killing unarmed African american guys is never OK. Where criminal damage occurs it should be policed and punished but a little empathy for the larger issue at hand is reasonable.

It refers to the idea that people throughout history who have been deaf to the needs of disadvantaged groups when spoken politely then passionately hardly have the right be be surprised when things turn ugly. The system has legitimate shortcomings. It could be better. Make it so.pic.twitter.com/qfT3m58B2P

I understood the reference. I don't know who you think you're talking to. I guess it hadn't even occurred to you that politically-motivated threats have actively shaped my life, or that I'm not some fabulously wealthy intellectual punching bag.
