I really can't get over how many individuals and institutions are happy to be explicitly and publicly racist when any permutation of that old monster finds a political or cultural foothold. We're the same creatures of the past millennium and history is apparently well from over.
I know this is going to blow y'all's minds, but every other group of human beings who's ever sought to codify racial preferences *also* had a self-satisfying chain of reasoning to explain the necessity of race policy in the interests of a sustainable, livable, peaceable society
I swear to god, "we're not evil this time so history has nothing for us" is the *actual* position of *actual* street mobs now, and half the country seems confused about whether or not this is sensible
