This isn't Chauvin's defense. This is a paper released in 2018, citing task force findings from 2009. This is absolutely going to introduce the possibility — if not probability — of reasonable doubt.

Seems like there was an ongoing debate about whether excited delirium is a legitimate danger or an excuse for excessive restraint resulting in death, and this paper was a part of that fight.
