My take is that every aspect of this is incontrovertibly bonkers, a predetermined win for violent accelerationists fueled by something between tribal religious fervor and genuine nation-scale mass hysteria

Seattle is evacuating its east precinct as a sign of "de-escalation and trust." If you want to understand the headspace of the crowd contingent tweeting about it: one big chunk is calling this "bait," and another is spreading the rumor that the police plan to burn it themselves.

The amount of effort that is required to evacuate any office, especially a PD, is huge. I'm all but convinced that this is a setup in some form.

Police can’t be trusted. Not now. Not yet. I saw them kneel, then shoot as people approached. saw them shoot people carrying an injured person seeking medical attention. I see them say 1 thing & then do another, too many times, too many videos. All I’m sayin is b aware out here

I walk(ed) past that precinct every day to go to my office, which is literally sharing a wall with it. I really hope they (whoever they are) don't burn it, I have some cool shit in my office...
