The solution might be as simple as letting social workers request police escorts, and training those officers to follow the lead of the expert they're protecting.
No social worker should ever enter a situation like this until any concealed weapons have been located and removed and nobody is presenting an imminent threat to anyone else. Think this through.

Might be possible the social worker has the skills to listen and talk them down and save lives. Maybe plane clothes with very discreet vest worn underneath and a concealed handgun as measure of last resort. The storm trooper look and open weapon display is not soothing.

The irony of that last sentence is ridiculous. Considering that some of the DV policies that work BEST are the ones that require non police victim advocates to RIDE WITH police to the most serious DV calls. But you’d have to actually learn about this topic to know that.
