Go to the Tenderloin right now and do a straw poll, Chesa. Your poorest are suing the city in desperation because it — and you — have abandoned them and their children.https://twitter.com/chesaboudin/status/1269089684484833280 …

If you believe a patchwork of non-LEO intervention workers can replace police, try it in the Tenderloin. It's already barely policed. The truth is: you have been trying. For years. And your ultimate solution was to allow the neighborhood equivalent of a Superfund site.

I notice that this article heavily focuses on the homeless, drug abuse and severe mental illness. How do you expect the police to help? Will they build more housing? Protest for suboxone deregulation? Help the homeless fill out paperwork to get a psychiatrist?

I expect them to enforce the law, as they do in the wealthier surrounding neighborhoods. It is against the law to sell the drugs that are killing SF's homeless population.

Imagine being in San Francisco and thinking, “You know what this city needs? Less policing”
