The cinch of Media Twitter groupthink keeps getting tighter and tighter... In the real world you can easily stake your life earnings on the claim that 'abolish the police' will never happen, but in the bubble it's controversial to say that this random new slogan is unrealistic.

"abolish the police" isn't unrealistic. Lots of third-world countries have no police force; organized crime becomes the de facto police. I wish journalists would point this out more.
