Every day real people cause real harm to themselves as a direct result of the sort of bullying Steph is *constantly* engaging in. If it stings being made to consider that, let it sting.

It's not cute, it's not cool, it's just being a terrible person. Teenagers sometimes status-climb this way, and it's just as horrific coming from a person who may not yet know better, but in the adult world there is simply no fucking room for it.

At least if you're fourteen, there's some chance an adult pulls you aside and tries to explain that this is not how civil human beings go about their day. And since Steph apparently didn't get the memo, I am perfectly happy to grab her by the ear myself.
