Got this email from an SF dog groomer. Looks like @LondonBreed is, for some reason, requiring people who want to take their dogs to a groomer to first get a "written statement" from a vet, which seems likely to generate *more* potential coronavirus exposures rather than fewer...?pic.twitter.com/z4q9j7v5RQ
What I imagine is going to happen now is that a bunch of vets are going to require a standard health exam (usually $50-120 here) in exchange for the permission slip. People will make & travel to completely unnecessary office vists to keep their pets comfortable.
The reality is that most dogs are healthier when they're groomed regularly by someone who knows what they're doing, but an incredibly tiny number are in genuine danger if they're not groomed. Leaving this to vets rather than pet owners just creates a paywall.

Taking a dog to a grooming service is so far removed from my reality that it is incredibly hard for me to have patience for posts like these. Stay homes, save lives, but do take your dog to a groomer.
