This is entirely out of context as the journalist attacked him for speaking about COVID. @balajis was noting he had experience in medical tech when the journalist said his expertise extended only to charging for viewing email.

It's the $$$ part that bothers me. The subtext, intended or not, is that $$$ outcome = success/validation/the right to speak on a topic. After reading Ryan's tweets though, he was being a total asshat too though, so, as the president would say, very good people on both sides.
Maybe this is arguable when you're talking about paper valuation, but what a company sells at is actually a very good indicator of its position in its space None of us should be surprised that everything gets filtered through PR when people snip at fucking everything like this

+1. The message was that he helped create a biotech company valued in the hundreds of millions. No small feat. Given the journalist implied his only created value was "charging for emails" this isn't unreasonable. My issue is far more w journalist sniping ignoring fact.
