My immediate concern is the often misleading & at times dangerous messaging we've seen from WHO in recent months My long term concern is that tech platforms offloading information gatekeeper permissions this way dramatically increases the bounty for institutional capture of WHOhttps://twitter.com/tariqnasheed/status/1252665361532456960 …

Replying to @webdevMason @balajis
Are they going to take down failing models of climate change. The science of Yoga. People who lecture you on the salutary effects of innumerable supposed cures for which studies are not available? This is so infuriating. Their control. I feel I am on Cuba.

I get the WHO messed up at first. But this is kind of a wartime scenario. Giving up of liberty for the hopeful benefit of the greater good. Real threats of more death from bad info.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pcmag.com/news/facebook-youtube-to-suppress-anti-vaxxer-content%3famp=true …

No, I really don't think you "get" it. The harm caused by e.g. brief anti-mask messaging from WHO could be many orders of magnitude more dangerous than everyone's aunt's craziest neighbor LARPing about vaccines on FB.

As usual, what actually matters is relatively boring, hard to find a clean tribal angle on and not particularly interesting to write or read about.
