It does, it just tends to be a lot cheaper to buy out institutions that aren't trying to be profitable. I'd bet that it's easier to get access to university chemistry projects with significant national security implications than it is to get the recipe for coke

Exactly. If I had doubts about WHO before, how much less could I trust them knowing that they're isolated from pushback or criticism on major platforms? Their job will become more and more keeping Google and China happy, less and less organizing world health.
