the extent to which the federal government has handed giant taxpayer-funded consolation prizes to industries that *cannot* be expected to recover + forced itself onto every PPE/test/research process only to serve as a blocked bottleneck for many of them should... concern you

to be 100% clear, the US government has more than enough *money* to rush vaccine/treatment development, build factories en masse, test imported supplies what it lacks is general capacity, organizational flexibility & incentives downstream of the stupid pretty faces we elect
