What you're describing here is the importance of limiting screen time such that you perform better as a parent — specifically, avoiding laziness. This has very little to do with kids, many of whom would benefit considerably from "lazier" parents.
The extreme pressure on parents to neither helicopter-parent nor neglect while in many cases acting as the enforcement mechanism for at-home busywork and no longer having any cultural support for providing unsupervised time is... toxic, at best. Childhood is largely lost.

I'm sure you feel you're doing what you feel you need to do to be the sort of parent want to be, and assuming that'll produce the sort of child you are supposed to produce. My parents had similar assumptions and I'm trying very hard to learn to forgive them for it.

All that said, I don't know you or your child and it could easily be the case that computers aren't a particular interest. Many children would prefer to draw, or dance, or make music, and fortunately parents are under no pressure to stop them from pursuing those doggedly.
